Chris Ware Acme Novelty Library #1 "Jimmy Corrigan" Page Original Art (Fantagraphics, 1993). "Jimmy Gets Out of the House Part II" has our diminutive (and naked) hero changing the course of his home-made rocket from the Moon to Susie Smith's house down the street. All goes well until an unforeseen side effect leaves Jimmy hanging from a tree. As usual, Chris Ware channels the ghosts of early comic strip artists to create a visual that manages to look both thoroughly modern and archaic at the same time -- how does he do it? The art is in ink over blue pencil on illustration board, with an image area of 13" x 19.5". The white-on-black captions are pasted-on production stats. There is some handling wear to the board edges, and the right side edge has a bit of sticky tape residue, but the overall condition for the image area remains Excellent.
