Description

Carmine Infantino - Unpublished Black Canary Page 3 Original Art (DC, circa 1949). Our heroine's in action in every panel here! Infantino was heavily influenced by Milton Caniff in this early work. This unpublished story called "Television Told the Tale" was written off by DC and saved from destruction decades later by enterprising staffers who, ordered to dispose of the old artwork, cut the pages horizontally in the spaces between the panels, rather than diagonally. This page has been reassembled, with the three tiers taped together (on the back), restoring it to its original format. Note that "FL 112" is written at the top, though of course Flash Comics only made it to #104. It was eventually published in Adventure Comics #399 in 1970. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". In three tiers as noted above, the art has minor handling wear and is missing a piece from one corner. Very Good condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
