Description

Carmine Infantino and Joe Giella Detective Comics #347 Story Page 13 Original Art (DC, 1966). Classic comic book and science fiction writer Gardner Fox makes a rare cameo appearance in panel three as he explains this part of the story is simply a "What If?" take on events from earlier in the book. Batman was killed in this alternate take; however, by page end we get a rare appearance of the Golden Age Batman from Earth-2. By this point, the Earth-2 Robin had grown up and was ready to replace the cowled crime-fighter, as evidenced by his appearances in JLA/JSA team-ups (see 1967's JLA #55). The page features Infantino's distinctive style in the action and even the pointing hand of the caption box. Produced in ink over graphite on bright white Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18". With only a couple of stripped in text corrections, it is in otherwise, Excellent condition.
