DescriptionCarl Barks Uncle Scrooge #59 "North of the Yukon" Page 22 Original Art (Gold Key, 1965). With a heart as big as his fortune, Uncle Scrooge sacrifices his lead and returns to save Barko from sudden death. Scrooge's old sled leader, Barko, was inspired by the dog Balto and his famous 1925 serum run to Nome, which garnered an article in National Geographic -- a key source of reference material for Barks throughout his career. The art consists of two segments of bristol taped together from the back, with a combined image area of 16" x 23.25". In Excellent condition. Signed by Barks in the lower right corner, below the last panel.
