Carl Barks Donald Duck #26 Partial Page 16 Original Art (Dell, 1952). Trick or Treat was a Disney cartoon from 1952 directed by Jack Hannah, and the storyline was adapted for this comic to kick off the Donald Duck regular comic book series (after years of appearing as Four Color one-shots), with art and embellished story elements by Carl Barks. It's one of the best-loved Barks stories starring Donald and the three nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, as well as the subject of endless discussion among Barks' fans, due to the fact that some pages were censored by Disney and Western Publishing, the home of Dell Comics. This wonderful half page (Barks always drew his pages in two pieces, to make the oversized boards easier to handle) features Witch Hazel (in her first comic book appearance) plotting with the boys after Donald turned the tables on them earlier. The art had an image area of approximately 16" x 11.5", and is in Excellent condition. Finding original art from any of the many pages Barks drew during his career is pretty tough (as very few were saved); finding even a portion of a page from such an important story is amazing! What a treat!
