Description

Brian Bolland - Batman: The Killing Joke, page 47 Original Art (DC, 1988).
On the memorable final page of this classic story, Batman and the Joker can't help but laugh about the "Killing Joke" itself. And Alan Moore's story suggests they're also laughing about the absurdity of fighting over and over again until one kills the other one day. Brilliant character shots of comics' greatest villain and greatest hero! A page from this same story sold for $35,252 in our August sale, and we're pleased that another collector has chosen to offer his own page at auction here. The image area of this modern masterpiece measures 10" x 15.75". The last panel of this page is a photostat paste-on. There is some pronounced staining to the back of the page, and the front of the page has some similar paper discoloration, most likely due to the acidity of some matting materials (mostly outside and around the page's image area); otherwise, the art is in Very Good condition.
