DescriptionBob White Cosmo the Merry Martian #s 1-2 Near-Complete Story Original Art Group of 26 (Archie Comics, 1958). White's Cosmo is a bright masterpiece of humor and adventure -- drawn in a Funny Animal style, with science-fictional characters. Cosmo and his sidekick, Orbi, explore the Dark Side of the Moon in search of a mysterious creature. Unlike anything else ever published by the Archie Comics Group, Cosmo anticipates Jeff Smith's fanciful Bone comics (1991) by many years while channeling such influences as Basil Wolverton and Walt Kelly (Pogo). This generous selection also includes a stand-alone, self-contained page from the series. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12" x 18". Light to moderate toning, scattered adhesive staining. Very Good to Excellent condition.
