    Description

Bill Sienkiewicz Elektra: Assassin #4 Page 14 Original Art (Marvel, c. 1986). With Elektra: Assassin, Bill Sienkiewicz broke new ground in graphic storytelling with an avant-garde approach to mixed-media materials and the comic book page. Writer Frank Miller and artist Bill Sienkiewicz were at the peak of their popularity with comic book fans when this series was released, shortly on the heels of Miller's hugely successful Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, and Miller and Sienkiewicz's Marvel Graphic Novel Daredevil: Love and War. As with Daredevil: Love and War, Sienkiewicz illustrated Elektra: Assassin using mixed media and watercolors, as opposed to the traditional penciling and inking method. His exaggerated art was unique amongst mainstream comics of the time, bringing to mind the illustration style of adult-oriented comic magazines like Heavy Metal. This ultra-violent page co-starring S.H.I.E.L.D. agent John Garrett has an image area of 10" x 15", and it has been matted and framed to an overall size of 11" x 16". The art is in Excellent condition.
