Description

Bill Sienkiewicz and Eric von Krupp The Tomb of Dracula #6 Story Page 9 Original Art (Marvel Comics, 1980). This striking composition catches Sienkiewicz at a peak of realistic style, a few years before he would develop the Expressionistic technique for which he would become famous. Two panels (upper tier, middle and right) find the artist employing Expressionist strokes on the background figures and scenery. The page comes from "Violets for a Vampire," featuring Lilith, daughter of Dracula. One panel contains a touch of nudity. Ink, airbrush, watercolor, and ink wash over graphite on Bristol board. The accompanying dialogue balloons are packaged loose, in an accompanying pouch. Image area, 10.5" x 15". Excellent condition.
