Bernie Krigstein Vault of Horror #36 "Pipe Dream" Page 3 Original Art (EC, 1954). This page from the classic pre-Code-era EC tale "Pipe Dream" about an opium-addicted father is as sad as it is gruesome! Another story in this same issue, "Twin Bill" was cited by Fredric Wertham, author of Seduction of the Innocent. Why he didn't cite this story is a mystery. Not only does opium addiction play a large part, this page features a severed leg in two panels. Seems like Wertham would have been all over that. This page is ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". Small nick out of the left side margin, and very slight tanning. Some paste-up glue residue, otherwise this page is in Excellent condition.
