Barry Windsor-Smith, Sal Buscema, Dan Adkins, and Chic Stone Conan the Barbarian #23 Story Page 16 Original Art (Marvel, 1973). The story "The Shadow of the Vulture" was originally to appear in issue #22, but the pencil art was lost in transit. As a result, enterprising editor Roy Thomas got together a group of inkers and had them work on vellum on top of copies of the original pencil work, thus saving the issue. Conan is a bound captive on this page, but that off-panel voice at the bottom is none other than Red Sonya, so you know there will be swordplay to follow! The image area on this page of ink work measures 10" x 15". All captions and word balloons are hand-lettered paste-ups, some of which are missing. The vellum is slightly toned, as are the paste-ups. In otherwise Very Good condition. Note: There is no pencil work on this page.
