DescriptionBarry Smith Conan the Barbarian #1 Story Page 4 Original Art (Marvel, 1970). Heritage has only ever offered one other page from this key first issue (the comic that started the Bronze Age according to some). Barry Windsor-Smith's work on this title put his name on the map. His work was inspirational to many other artists, not the least of which was Dave Sim. Sim's book Cerebus the Aardvark started out as a very loving tribute/parody to the Smith-era Conan. Two panels on this page feature a great side view of Conan and the horned helmet he originally wore. The page is crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Panel 2 is an original art paste-up. The page has some handling wear, and minor stains; otherwise in Very Good condition.
