Description

Arthur Peddy Flash Comics #110 Unpublished "Ghost Patrol" Story Page 3 Original Art (DC, 1949). DC worked so far ahead that much impressive work would wind up orphaned in the postwar years' near-collapse of the superhero genre. The first Flash Comics had ended with issue #104. This page springs from a backup yarn featuring the Ghost Patrol, an ectoplasmic cross between Blackhawk and The Spectre. The page is stamped "written off 9-30-49" -- an order for its destruction. Some years later, DC staffers (including then-intern Marvin Wolfman) cut the art horizontally into three tiers and saved it. The image area, reassembled, is 13" x 18". Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Moderate aging, with one docked corner and random spot-staining. Otherwise in Excellent condition.
