DescriptionAlberto Giolitti Sergeant Preston of the Yukon #11 Page 32 (Dell Comics, 1954). A beautiful job of brushwork, here, from a mainstay artist of Dell Comics' historical-adventure books. The sequence comes from "The Missing Horse," about a wilderness manhunt. (The series, drawn from movies and radio, dates from the 1940s.) Steadfast Sgt. Preston and his courageous dog, Yukon King, are on the case, as usual. The use of Leroy Method Lettering (a stencil-based process) causes the page to resemble the style of the same period's EC Comics line. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 13" x 18.75". Faint toning. Tight trimming at right and upper edges. Excellent condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
