    Description

Alan Davis and Paul Neary Excalibur #23 Story Page 8 Original Art (Marvel Comics, 1990). Captain Britain leaps to rescue Shadowcat as a member of the Justicers' vigilante mob opens fire. The page represents a spinoff of the X-Men series, in which writer Chris Claremont lampoons Great Britain's Judge Dredd comics. The story is titled, "Here Comes the Judge" -- not to put too fine a point on the parody. A dynamic radial composition, with some remarkable ink-shading in the lower tier's middle panel. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Light toning and marginal smudging. Excellent condition.
