S. Clay Wilson Pervert Pirates Original Art (2005). Prolific even after the decline of the Underground Comix movement that had sustained his artistry, taboo-buster Wilson generated such paintings as this one in the visual-grammar terms of his ZAP Comix stories of the 1970s. This raunchy, desperate image might bear consideration as an origin story for a Wilson signature character, Captain Pissgums. Watercolors and additional mixed media on board. Image area, 10" x 10", matted and glass-front framed to 16.75" x 16.75". Caption/title accompanies signature. Excellent condition.Auction Info
