Description

Rudy Nappi "Hell Bent" Paperback Cover Painting Original Art (c. 1950s). This terrified redhead appeared twice as a paperback cover in the 1950s-as the bottom half of the split Royal Books paperback Adam and Two Eves/The Other Stranger (1953), and solo as Hellbent (1958). The painting was then much later used as a stand-in for the cover of EC's Shock Illustrated #4 in the Russ Cochran Picto-Fiction reprint. Created in gouache over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19" x 13". The Bristol board has been affixed to a 21.75" x 17.25" section of bright white illustration board. Toned and in Very Good condition.
From the Roger Hill Collection.
