Description
Norman Saunders - President Dwight D. Eisenhower Painting Original Art with Art Spiegelman Hand-Written Note (c. 1972). "Ike" and First Lady Mamie Eisenhower are represented here in gorgeous gouache from the hand of Norm Saunders. This piece was gifted to Denis and Holly Kitchen as a wedding gift from Art Spiegelman (and Francoise). There is a hand-written note from Spiegelman on the reverse side of the 5" x 3.5" Bristol board. Norm Saunders produced art for the 1972 Topps U.S. Presidents trading card series. This piece may have been intended for that, but appears to be unpublished. The small painting is in Excellent condition.From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
