Norman Saunders Civil War News Trading Card #60 "Suicide Charge" Painting Original Art (Topps, 1962). Dateline Fort Pillow, TN -- April 12 1864: "Rebels Beat North at Fort Pillow". This set of historical trading cards featured an interesting and educational gimmick. The card backs featured a newspaper headline and small article, while the card front featured a stunning painting by Norm Saunders. Fans of his Mars Attacks and Batman trading cards, as well as his many pulp magazine covers, should take note of this rare and beautiful miniature painting. It was created in gouache with an image area of 5" x 3.5". Glass front framed to 6.5" x 5". In Excellent condition.More information about Norman Saunders.
