Michael Kaluta Furies and Tombs of the Heretics Painting Original Art (1975). Long considered one of the most popular artists, even by his peers, Michael Kaluta always brings an ethereal and magical quality to his work. His limited edition portfolios are prized examples of that, and few more so than his Dante's Inferno portfolio. This painting was used as one of the eight color plates in that print set. This is the original oil painting on canvas board. It has an image area of approximately 21" x 27" and is framed with no front. The colors are bright, yet soft and haunting. Kaluta paintings are very rare and hard to find, and ones used in well-known portfolio sets such as this one are in even higher demand. From a peak period of his output and in Excellent condition.
