    Description

Joe Chiodo Girls of Chiodo Series 1 "Bikini Babe" Collectible Figure Blister Card Painting Original Art and Signed Figure Group of 2 (Skybolt 1988). Well-known for his paintings of... ahem... "well-rounded" women, Joe Chiodo's big-eyed art was the inspiration for a small line of vinyl figures. This buoyant babe is appropriately enough titled "Bikini Babe". Here we have the stupefyingly lovely babe on a gorgeous gouache painting that was used as the art for the blister card hang-card. Signed by Chiodo in the lower right of the 23.5" x 17.25" illustration board. Also includes a copy of the blister carded figure itself, signed by Chiodo with a gold paint pen on the card backing. The blister of the card is slightly crushed, putting the carded figure in Good condition. The original art painting is in Excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
