Description

James O'Barr - The Crow Painting Original Art (undated). An atmospheric and emotionally charged original painting by James O'Barr, creator of The Crow -- the cult graphic novel first published in 1989 that became a cultural phenomenon. O'Barr's vision of Eric Draven, the tormented antihero resurrected to avenge his lost love, defined an entire era of dark, gothic storytelling and inspired the acclaimed 1994 film adaptation. Paintings by O'Barr connected to The Crow are exceedingly rare, each one capturing the stark, haunting aesthetic that made the character an icon of underground comics and alternative culture. Rendered edge-to-edge in gouache on an illustration board measuring 27.5" x 19.5". Minor handling. Signed. In Excellent condition.
