Description
James O'Barr - Jonny Z from Gothik Painting Original Art (c. 1992). Jonny Z, the dark, androgynous lead character from O'Barr's "Frame 137", a story which was first published in Storming the Reality Studio: A Casebook of Cyberpunk & Postmodern Science Fiction (Duke Univ. Press, 1991) and later Dark Horse Presents #61 (1992), is featured in this striking painting. The piece was possibly created as part of O'Barr's Gothik universe, a cyberpunk story with a planned release through Tundra Publishing, which was sadly never realized. Incredible art from O'Barr, created after his cult classic epic, The Crow, produced in mixed media on 13" x 20" illustration board. Black tape panel borders and light handling wear. Signed by O'Barr on the back. In Excellent condition.From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
