Jack Davis Portrait of Rose Keller Original Art (c. 1950s-60s). Davis departs from his familiar MAD Magazine style to deliver a stunning near-Impressionistic portrait of "friend Rose," as he writes beneath the signature. Though best known for his exaggerations of human anatomy, Davis excels at the lifelike essence of this study, executed in wet-brush broad strokes on a toothy grade of watercolor paper. Image area, 11" x 14.5". Moderate toning and occasional brush-daubs. A non-Davis pencil-sketch of a Captain America-like figure appears on reverse. One horizontal crease at lower edge. Very Good condition.
