Go Nagai Psycho Armor Govarian Anime Painting Original Art (Knack Productions, c. 1980s). The Japanese anime series Psycho Armor Govarian premiered on TV Tokyo in 1983. In the vein of Mazinger Z, and Mobile Suit Gundam, it found an audience easily. Series creator Go Nagai is well-known to fans for his 1970s creations of Cutie Honey, Devilman, and Mazinger Z. The similarity between this new series and Go Nagai's previous Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger was not coincidental, and was in fact at the express demand of Knack Productions. Original artwork from the hand of the creator of the "piloted-mech anime" genre is rare, so fans should buckle in and take note of this piece. A stunning work in gouache that is framed to approximately 21" x 29.5". There is a very minor scuff line approximately an inch inside the frame on the lower right. In otherwise Excellent condition.
Signed "Go. Ko." in the lower right, the "Ko" referring to the artist's wife Sumiko. The painting had been a "thank you" gift from the newlywed couple to a friend; hence the two sets of initials.

    More Information: Edit: Corrected measurements.
