Description

Frank Frazetta Eerie #81 "Queen Kong" Cover Painting (Warren, 1977). This classic Frazetta painting has a ton going for it -- a 1970s Warren cover parodying the artist's favorite movie, King Kong, by foregrounding the subject matter he was most known for -- a beautiful woman! In typical fashion for the artist who completely redefined fantasy art, Frazetta reverses the power roles here, with the lovely female as the powerful protagonist commanding all of New York City while gripping a helpless Kong, instead of the other way around!
Created in oil on canvas wrapped board. Signed in the lower right section of the 17.5" x 21" image area. Glass-front framed to 26" x 29.5". In Excellent condition.
