Description
Carl Barks Donald Duck Sheriff of Bullet Valley Oil Painting Original Art (1973). This richly hued shootout scene was based on Carl Barks' own 1948 Donald Duck Four Color #199 tale, "The Sheriff of Bullet Valley." As all fans know by now, Carl Barks was the genius behind the creation of "Scrooge McDuck," the world's richest duck, and was known for many years as the "good duck artist" who drew the comic book adventures of Donald Duck, his nephews, and Uncle Scrooge in the 1940s-1960s.This oil on board painting has been indexed with a Barks number #2-73 (and by Barks scholars as painting #41 P1973) and it saw print as color plate #122 in The Fine Art of Walt Disney's Donald Duck by Carl Barks, published in 1981. This 14" x 18" oil on Masonite painting has been framed to an overall size of 19.5" x 23.5", and this iconic masterpiece is in Excellent condition. From the Kerby Confer Collection.
