Description

Bob Larkin Conan the Rebel Paperback Cover Painting Original Art (1979). There is a certain challenge assumed when an artist agrees to represent a popular icon and Bob Larkin was more than willing to rise to such a challenge -- his use of rich color adeptly captures a skirmish that marks a legendary time in the Conan saga. This blazing battle scene showcases Conan's freebooting days as a pirate and a reaver. It was used for the cover of the 1980 Bantam books paperback by Poul Anderson. Created in oil on 26" x 20" canvas wrapped board. Signed and dated in the lower right. The art is in Excellent condition.
