    Description

    Alfredo Alcala - Conan Painting Original Art (1971). Dated 12-71, this Conan painting pre-dates Al Alcala's first published US work (DC Comics' The Unexpected #138, August 1972) by seven months. It also pre-dates his first published Conan work for Marvel, which was a pin-up illustration in Savage Sword of Conan #1, by two and a half years. The striking painting was rendered almost edge-to-edge in oil on 10" x 15" illustration board. It is signed and dated in the lower right. Lightly toned and in Very Good condition.
