Description

Al Capp - Fearless Fosdick "Chuckle" Painting Original Art (c. 1974). Even shot full of holes, Fearless Fosdick is still Li'l Abner's ideel! The "strip-within-a-strip" was a parody of Chester Gould's Dick Tracy. Created for a line of high-quality oversized - not quite life-size, but darn big! - silkscreen prints of Li'l Abner characters, it is unclear if this image was ultimately used or not. Airbrush/acrylic over graphite on canvas with an image area of 72" x 54". Staple and marginal pinholes, creasing, and soiling/staining from a previous stretching. Surface wear with some spots of color streaking and loss. In Very Good condition.
