Neal Adams WARP! Play Poster Illustration Original Art, Printed Poster, and Playbill Magazine Group of 3 (Organic Theatre Company, 1973). Commercial and comic book artist Neal Adams was hired as the Art Director for the play WARP! when it moved from its original Chicago production to Broadway in 1973. The play originally opened in 1971 and was a series of three full-length plays that told a larger story in a serialized format. It ran for a year before moving to Broadway. The story was inspired by Marvel comics in general, so it was only natural to get well-known artist Neal Adams to supply the poster, playbill, and promotional art for the series, and he designed the costumes as well. This piece was created in ink and Zipatone on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 19.5". The logo is a paste-up with some original art on top of it. There is production tape and residue in the margins, and the Ambassador Theatre caption box is a printed paste-up, as is the text in the upper left. The toned piece is in Very Good condition. It comes with both a full-color printed poster, mounted on 15" x 23" illustration board, and an original copy of Playbill Magazine (Vol 10, Issue #2) with a Neal Adams cover feature for WARP One: "My Battlefield, My Body". The printed poster is in Very Good condition and the Playbill is in Excellent condition. From the Key Comics Collection.
