DescriptionNeal Adams and Tom Palmer Avengers #93 Story Page 23 Captain Marvel Original Art (Marvel, 1971). From "The Kree-Skrull War," still one of the most famous storylines in the history of comics, we get a nearly full-page splash of the Kree-born Captain Marvel! Check out the last panel for a peek at Goliath II (Clint Barton), and that's Carol Danvers in the background of the main panel... or is it? Those are Skrulls on the page after all. This chapter finally starts to fill in the reader on the web of cosmic intrigue that would draw the Avengers into an intergalactic war, and decades later fuel Marvel's Secret Invasion.
The art team of Adams and Palmer provided some stand-out issues at a high-water mark for this long-running title, and this one was no exception! Palmer's expert use of Zipatone shading help set the scene with a realistic touch that pulled the viewer in without them even knowing it.
Produced in ink and Zipatone over ink on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 14". There are some very minor whiteout clean-ups and blue pencil marks. The lightly toned page is in Excellent condition.
