DescriptionZap Comix #1 Original Registration of a Claim to Copyright Certificate (1968). Albert Morse's original paperwork, filed on behalf of his client, Robert Crumb, to establish a copyright for the first issue of All New Zap Comix. The document, which lists October 28, 1967 as the date of publication, was filed in San Francisco on June 26, 1968, and lists the Viking Press New York address as the place to send a copies (Viking Press published Head Comix, the first major compilation of Crumb's work, in 1968). The document is the earliest known of the existing Zap #1 certificates, and is in Excellent condition. From the Albert Morse Collection.
