    Description

Will Eisner National Screw #3 "Gleeful Guide to the Quality of Life" Complete 8-Page Story Production Art (Al Goldstein, 1977). This story has a very interesting background. Four of the eight pages were published in the February issue of National Screw magazine. Not the place you would expect to find Will Eisner artwork, to be sure! National Screw was a magazine format offshoot of Goldstein's long-running Screw newspaper. Other contributors included Wally Wood, Harlan Ellison, William S. Burroughs, and Allen Ginsberg. The pages are filled with raunchy and ribald humor that is out of step with contemporary norms today. These pages are hand-colored copies of the original artwork with a hand-lettered overlay, all produced by the unmistakable hand of Will Eisner. The colors are incredibly bright and vibrant. There is a note on one page that at least some of the contents were "Digested from Will Eisner's How to Avoid Death & Taxes, published by 1974 by PoorHouse Press". These pages are produced on illustration board with an image area of 10" x 13.5". Note: The only original artwork is the color and lettering. Pages are in Excellent condition.
