DescriptionWalt Disney Studios - The Tortoise and the Hare Animation Model Sheet Original Art (Walt Disney, 1935). The thirties were an exciting era of discovery for the Walt Disney Studios. Their artists mastered character animation, bringing many cherished Disney friends to life. Hamilton Luske animated Max Hare, who is seen at the bottom center of this model sheet, in a fabled tennis sequence. This character guide done for animators articulates Toddeling Toby Tortoise from all points of view, with varied facial expressions and humorous body language. The art was drawn in black pencil on animation paper, with its four animation registration holes punched near the bottom of the paper. The overall paper size is 9.5" x 11.5", and the art is in Excellent condition. Detailed and thoughtful studies such as this helped the Disney Studios to create the "illusion of life" and win world-wide fame.
