    Description

Walt Disney Studios - "Sleeping Beauty," Maleficent Pencil Animation Drawing Original Art (Walt Disney, 1959). Princess Aurora was cursed by the evil witch Maleficent, who declared that before Aurora reached her 16th birthday she would die by a poisoned spinning-wheel. Marc Davis, one of the grand masters of Disney animation and a celebrated member of Walt Disney's trusted inner circle, known as the ``nine old men," earned a reputation for being Disney's "ladies' man" because of his memorable female character creations. They included Cinderella, Alice, Tinker Bell, Briar Rose, Cruella De Vil and Maleficent. This pencil on three-hole animation paper drawing of Maleficent captures her portrait perfectly, in all its magnificent malevolence. Chilling! The overall paper size is 15.5" x 12.5", with a 7" x 11" image, and the art is in Excellent condition. The drawing was numbered 159 in the lower right corner.
