    Description

Vaughn Bodé Cheech Wizard Preliminary Artwork Original Art Group of 2 Pages (1968). Original pencils for a Cheech Wizard strip from the hand of Vaughn Bodé are about as rare as a peek under Cheech's hat! Bodé seems to have used the opening line of "Once upon a time, at 2:30 in the afternoon..." more than once, making identifying this story more difficult. However, we feel it has been published in spite of the fact that these are pure graphite renderings. It's possible these were finished by his son Mark Bodé and published in one of the various Cheech Wizard collections. Each page is signed by Vaughn Bodé and the first is dated 1968, during the time he was producing work for The Daily Orange, a student-written newspaper at Syracuse University. These pages are graphite on paper with an image area of 10" x 13.5". They are handsomely matted and glass front framed to 30.25" x 22". The pages are slightly tanned with some tape residue in the top margins. Overall in Very Good condition.
