DescriptionRonald McDonald Treat of the Week Plaque Design Drawing by Wes Cook Original Art (McDonald's/Setmakers, 1979). In 1979, McDonald's restaurants offered a "Ronald McDonald Treat of the Week," a small trinket or toy, alongside its regular menu offerings. The Happy Meal was introduced later that same year which quickly overtook this short-lived concept, making it a very rare piece of McDonald's history. This the original hand-drawn graphite design for the Treat of the Week in-store plaque by legendary McDonald's artist and Disney Imagineer, Wes Cook. The image includes Ronald gesturing to a sign reading "Ask for a Ronald McDonald Treat of the Week." The artwork measures 11" x 8" on 18" x 13" vellum, is dated April 15, 1979, and is signed by the artist. The piece shows minor handling wear and creases. Condition is Fine.
