DescriptionPeanuts It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Linus Storyboard/Concept Drawing Original Art (Bill Melendez, 1966). The historic third Charlie Brown/Peanuts special aired on CBS-TV, on 10/27/66, and has been shown virtually every year since then. This Emmy Award-nominated fan favorite marks its 50th anniversary in 2016. Here's a rare hand-drawn, hand-painted color key/concept storyboard drawing of Linus holding up his "Welcome Great Pumpkin" sign, matching the cel seen at the 7:59 mark into the special, right after Charlie Brown receives his party invitation. This is from the hand of the great background painter and longtime Bill Melendez Studio artist, Mr. Dean Spille. Gouache on thin board measuring approximately 5" x 4", marked Sc. 44 in the bottom right corner. The art is framed to an overall 21" x 20". The frame has a few dings; the art is in Fine condition. It's a real piece of Peanuts history!
