Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76 Cover Production Stat (DC, 1970). This production stat was created so that the entire image could be reduced in size a bit, to allow the figure of Green Arrow to be repositioned slightly. This is the actual mechanical cover stat used in the production of this historic key issue. The cover that many collectors feel kicked off DC's Bronze Age for sure! It was the beginning of the "Hard Traveling Heroes" story arc that paired an out-of-touch Green Lantern with a socially conscious Green Arrow. Neal Adams' artwork was perfect for conveying the action and realism required to draw in the reader, and this instantly became an iconic cover image for the entire era. The perfect visual component to writer Denny O'Neil's unflinching look beyond the norms of conventional superhero comics, into the subjects of racism, inequality, pollution, and corporate greed. On this stat, once Green Arrow was repositioned, someone (likely a production staffer) continued the lines from the lantern out with a straight-edge. Also a very small portion of the exploding lantern was created at that point (on the right side) to complete the image. Likewise, the flames of the logo stat were extended a bit in ink. There is a stain in the upper right of the 10" x 15" image area, and some production tape and glue residue used to affix the various stat elements (art, logo, text), with a couple of elements missing. Overall in Very Good condition.
