DescriptionMike Ploog Guardians Original Preliminary Artwork and Finished Card Group of 2 (Friedlander Publishing Group, 1996). Ploog's smart parody of Marvel Comics' Silver Surfer character graces one of the more striking pieces from Keith Parkinson and Luke Peterschmidt's Guardians gaming-card set. This large-scale rendition, with varying pencilled shades, differs significantly from the 2.5" x 3.5" published version: The Silver Server (sic) wears only a bow-tie in the conceptual drawing. A copy of the card is included. Graphite on dense vellum. Image area, 9" x 11". Light toning and wrinkling, with one marginal tear. Very Good condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
