DescriptionMichael Kaluta Conan Preliminary Artwork Original Art (1990). Very similar to Kaluta's 1977 work "In the Twinkling of an Eye", this piece features Conan, yet again facing off against the giant snake man, with the life of a damsel in distress hanging in the balance. Balance is a wonderful word to use with this piece as Kaluta has an almost lyrical method to his layouts. Round shapes keep the reader's eye coming back to the focal point. This graphite study was done before a larger painted version would have been attempted. This piece was created in pencil on three sheets of paper, joined with production tape, for a combined image area of 17" x 20". Signed and dated in the image area. The piece has been affixed to an illustration board for stability. In Very Good condition.
