DescriptionMcDonaldland Christmas Lights Concept Art Group of 7 (McDonald's/Setmakers, 1973). This group of original holiday concept art from the very early days of McDonaldland, consists of seven individual paintings and sketches of characters used in the development of Christmas lights. The first item is a hand-painted design proposal for lights featuring Ronald McDonald, Captain Crook, and a Gobblin, rendered in pencil and colored with goauche. All three designs are presented on a single piece of illustration board measuring 9" x 12". Second is a group of five individual Christmas light concept sketches. Characters drawn are Ronald, Mayor McCheese, Officer Big Mac, Hamburglar, and Captain Crook. Each is meticulously rendered in graphite to actual size on 12" x 9" vellum sheets with the Setmakers name and address handwritten in the lower right corner. Last in the lot is a single, hand-painted Ronald McDonald "Christmas Bulb" on 6.5" x 5" illustration board covered with a clear mylar overlay. Very minor handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good.
