Description

McDonald's Stained Glass Valance Original Art Group of 3 (McDonald's/Setmakers, c. 1970s). Setmakers offered simulated stain glass valances and Tiffany lamps as decor options for McDonald's restaurants. This is a collection of original design concepts of valances that made it into production. The first is a graphite rendering of three valance designs for Ronald's Rooms. Two incorporate McDonaldland characters, and the third includes the Golden Arches amongst a floral design. The artwork measures approximately 10" x 12" on 14" x 17" vellum. Second is a color exploration of an Apple Pie Room valance. It is a blue line print, colored with goauche and colored pencil, and protected with a sheet of clear acetate. The art measures 6" x 12" on 16" x 18.5" illustration board. With it is a small marker comp of the valance as it would appear installed flat in a cabinet panel. The third drawing is the final graphite design for the second drawing and is rendered on 14" x 17" vellum. All show minor handling wear. Condition is Very Good.
