Description

McDonald's Interiors Design Drawings Original Art by Wes Cook Group of 2 (McDonald's/Setmakers, c. 1970s). Wes Cook was a celebrated Disney Imagineer helping to design theme parks here and abroad, but before that he was the Creative Director and lead artist for Setmakers, a company that supplied custom decorative items and playground equipment to McDonald's restaurants. Here are two early Wes Cook graphite renderings of interior concepts for a McDonald's. The first drawing features a Ronald's Room filled with popular Setmakers' items such as statuary, wall plaques, and custom seating areas. The art measures 11" x 15" on 19" x 24" vellum, and "Prototype Only" is handwritten in the lower right corner. Setmakers also offered custom wall murals designed and painted by Mr. Cook, and the second drawing is one of his original concepts. It features the entire McDonaldland cast of characters and measures 7.5" x 18.75" on 10.25" x 24" vellum. The pair exhibit creases, and edge and handling wear; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
