    Description

Max Fleischer Studios - "Gulliver's Travels" Animation Drawing Original Art (Max Fleischer Studios, 1939). Taken directly from the 1939 blockbuster, "Gulliver's Travels," comes this delightful animation drawing featuring Snoop, Sneak, Snitch, and Gabby, in wide-eyed wonder. Max and Dave Fleischer, cinematic purveyors of Betty Boop and Popeye, brought Jonathan Swift's classic novel, "Gulliver's Travels," to life in the second-ever animated feature film, rivaling Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" for sheer artistic excellence. Penciled in color on a 6" x 8" sheet of animation bond, there is a small rust stain from a missing gem clip on the upper left edge, otherwise this art is in Very Good condition. From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini. Richard says: "Thanksgiving at our house in the late 1950s and early 1960s could be counted on for a button-popping turkey dinner, and on the TV every year like clockwork, a broadcast of Fleischer's "Gulliver's Travels." I loved that cartoon and still do. These three pieces -- two actual cels and one humorous animation drawing right from the film -- were the Holy Grail of "Gulliver" collectibles to me. I had found books and other memorabilia before, but nothing could compare to these!"
