DescriptionLuis Dominguez Mutant War Preliminary Original Art (Cinevest Entertainment, 1988). Silver Age/Bronze Age horror-comics favorite Dominguez turns to a movie-poster assignment with this miniature conceptual painting for Brett Piper's sequel to Galaxy Destroyer (1986). The strong radial composition is as compelling as any of the magazine covers Dominguez has done for Vampirella or Dracula Lives! The combined media of semi-gloss acrylics, opaque watercolors, ink, and white highlighting lend a low-relief dimensional texture, with a vivid illusion of depth. Mixed media on blue poster board. Image area, 9" x 13". Moisture staining at upper left corner, light diagonal crease at upper right. Moderate edge wear. Otherwise in Very Good condition.
