DescriptionJohn Higgins Watchmen #5 Cover Hand-Colored Blueline Original Art (DC, 1987). Each of the twelve covers from the Watchmen series were designed to be the opening panel to the story inside, featuring a detailed close-up scene with no actual human characters shown. For the cover to issue #5's "Fearful Symmetry" story, colorist John Higgins, added airbrushed colored inks to a printed blue-line version of the line art, which is itself represented by a film overlay, to produce the final cover artwork as printed. The colored blueline has an art image area of 6" x 12", and both the blueline and line art overlay are in Excellent condition. From the Shamus Modern Masterworks Collection.
