Jeff Jones Vampirella #5 "An Axe to Grind" Preliminary Story Page 3 Original Art (Warren, 1970). Stella knocks on the door of spooky home hoping to sell a lightning rod to a mysterious (and deranged) man. Pioneer LGBTQ+ comic artist, originally known as Jeff Jones before transitioning into a woman and changing her name to Jeffrey Catherine Jones, was best known for her contributions to comics such as Flash Gordon, The Witching Hour, Wonder Woman, creating cover art of over 150 books in the late 1970's, and even a recurring strip titled "I'm Age" in Heavy Metal Magazine. This preliminary story page was composed entirely in graphite on Bristol board with an image area 10.75" x 13.75". Slight toning and light smudging/handling wear. In Very Good condition.
