J. Scott Campbell More Marvelous Art Cover Preliminary Original Art (Marvel, 2016). A showcase of Marvel's mighty heroes through the unmistakable lens of superstar cover artist J. Scott Campbell! This cover preliminary was created for the hardcover art book collecting the third volume of J. Scott Campbell's Marvel artwork and features sketched renditions of Spider-Man, Gamora, Iron Man, Wolverine (Laura Kinney), Captain America, Hulk, Mary Jane, Silk, Psylocke, Colossus, Magik, Black Cat, Deadpool, Rogue, Spider-Gwen, Doctor Strange, and Groot. While nearly all of the characters in the prelim appear in similar poses and costume designs to their counterparts on the published cover, the placement of several figures differs between the preliminary and final versions. It is important to note, however, that every character featured in the prelim appears on either the front or back cover of the published art book. Rendered in pure graphite on paper with an image area of 8.25" x 11.5", matted and glass-front framed to 11.75" x 14.75". Lightly toned, with smudging, stat paste-ups used to add Doctor Strange, Groot, Hulk, and Campbell's signature to the image, and light wear. Includes a signed hardcover copy of the published art book. In Excellent condition.Auction Info
